Art Palma Summer 2025: Contemporary Art Takes Over the Island

Jun 03, 2025

On Thursday, June 5, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, Art Palma Summer returns—one of the key dates in the Balearic cultural calendar. This year marks its tenth edition, with its most ambitious program yet: nearly 50 exhibitions across Palma, Andratx, Pollença, and for the first time, on Illa del Rei (Menorca), featuring over 100 emerging and internationally renowned artists.

New galleries such as Tube Gallery in Palma and Hauser & Wirth Menorca join the program, expanding its reach across the Balearic archipelago. Also joining is the University Art Biennial – Art Week 2025, organized by ADEMA University School, bringing together over 300 artists from 21 international universities.

This edition highlights projects curated by women artists such as Mika Rottenberg, María Edwards, and Johanna von Monkiewitsch, alongside established names like Cindy Sherman, Carlos Garaicoa, Ian Hamilton Finlay, and Thomas Lisle.

The presence of Balearic artists is also strong, with figures such as Rafa Forteza, Adriana Meunié, Albert Pinya, Adrián Martínez, and Bel Fullana among the highlights.

Throughout June and July, free guided tours will be available to bring contemporary art closer to the public, in venues such as Es Baluard, Casal Solleric, Fundació Miró Mallorca, Museu de Pollença, and La Misericòrdia.
