Cinema, Talent and Mediterranean Soul: Evolution Mallorca Film Festival 2025

Cinema, Talent and Mediterranean Soul: Evolution Mallorca Film Festival 2025

Oct 16, 2025

From October 21 to 29, Palma once again becomes the island’s stage for the 14th edition of the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF) — one of the Mediterranean’s most vibrant cultural events.

For nine days, the city will be a meeting point for filmmakers, actors and film lovers, with a programme featuring more than 130 films from 86 countries.

This year, the festival will pay tribute to Hollywood actor Steve Buscemi, who will receive the Evolution ICON Award at the opening gala, held for the first time at Palma’s Palau de Congressos. Buscemi will also present his film Psycho Therapy during the closing night on October 29.

Among the other honourees are cinematographer Phedon Papamichael, recipient of the Cinematography ICON Award, and Spanish artists Julio Medem and Ingrid García-Jonsson, who will receive the Evolution Vision and New Talent Awards respectively.

Among the most exciting new additions is the launch of “Mallorca Green Film”, a section promoting sustainable filming and environmental awareness within the audiovisual industry. True to its inclusive spirit, EMIFF continues to foster an open and approachable atmosphere, without VIP areas, encouraging dialogue between creators and audiences.

At MallorcaSite.com, we follow this inspiring festival with special affection.

We had the pleasure of supporting a previous edition as sponsors, sharing the red carpet with talents such as Mads Mikkelsen and Melissa Leo, and enjoying memorable moments with Sandra Seeling Lipski, the festival’s founder and director.

It was an experience that reinforced our commitment to initiatives that celebrate creativity, art and life on the island.
